I’m Yassine Maleh, an associate professor of cybersecurity and IT governance at Sultan Moulay Slimane University, Morocco, since 2019. I am the founding chair of the IEEE Consultant Network Morocco and the founding president of the African Research Center of Information Technology & Cybersecurity. Previously, I served as a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the National Port Agency from 2012 to 2019.
I am a senior member of IEEE. My contributions span information security and privacy, Internet of Things (IoT) security, and wireless and constrained network security. My research interests focus on information system security, IT governance, IoT, and network security.
To date, I have authored and co-authored over 200 scientific publications including book chapters, international journals, and conferences. I have also edited 45 books and authored 8 books in the fields of cybersecurity, IoT, and information systems. I currently serve as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Information Security and Privacy (IJISP) and the International Journal of Smart Security Technologies (IJSST). Additionally, I am an Associate Editor for IEEE Access (Impact Factor: 4.098), the International Journal of Digital Crime and Forensics (IJDCF), and the IJISP. I also serve as a Series Editor for Advances in Cybersecurity Management by CRC Taylor & Francis.
I have been a Guest Editor for multiple prestigious journals, including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Engineering Management Review, Sensors, and the Big Data Journal. I continue to actively contribute as a reviewer for leading journals such as Elsevier Ad Hoc Networks, IEEE Network Magazine, IEEE Sensors Journal, ICT Express, and Springer Cluster Computing.
In the international academic community, I have served as General Chair and Publication Chair for renowned conferences, including BCCA 2019, MLBDACP 2019, ICI2C'21, ICACNGC 2022, CCSET'22, IEEE ISC2 2022, and ISGTA'24. I was honored with the Publons Top 1% Reviewer Award for my outstanding contributions in 2018 and 2019.
My mission is to advance cybersecurity knowledge through impactful research, education, and collaboration, addressing emerging challenges in cybersecurity, IT governance, and IoT systems.
